SRF's Gabriel La Roux

"Gabe" is an 8yr old, 16.2hh American Saddlebred gelding who was saved from a Pennsylvania broker lot in March of 2012. He is a former Amish buggy horse who found himself beaten down, broken and emaciated. He arrived at SRFER in very rough shape with a body score of a high 1/low 2 on the Henneke Body Scoring System. He has undergone a major rehabilitation during his time at SRFER and has been cleared for riding and under saddle evaluation.

In the second week of June our "Gabe" began his full under saddle evaluation process. He was easy to mount, steer and responded well to leg and hand cues. Gabe has done several half hour sessions of walk/trot under saddle and has proven himself to be an easy to handle, level headed boy with a lovely trot and an eager to please attitude.

Gabe is barefoot, sound, UTD on his coggins, rabies, 5way vaccination and worming. He has excellent ground manners, is wonderful for the Veterinarian & Farrier, loads/bathes/clips/ties and trailers like a champ! This handsome, tall drink of water is a lovely example of everything a Saddlebred is and should be. He will make someone a lovely riding or pleasure driving horse.
